Two Year Ministerial Program
Admission Requirements

Admission to the Interfaith Ministry Training Program of The New Seminary is open to all male and female adults regardless of age, race, religion, ethnic background or sexual orientation.

Formal academic requirements are waived, although students need to be able to read and write at a post-secondary school level, and need to be familiar with personal computing and email. Emphasis for admission is placed on a candidate’s character, emotional and spiritual maturity, commitment to service and spiritual aspiration.

Step one is a completed application form (including essays), a recent photo, application/registration fee and two letters of recommendation. Step two includes a personal questionnaire, and step three is a personal interview, done either in person in New York City, or by phone if necessary.

Applications are accepted and admissions are made on a rolling basis throughout the year. In recent years our classes have been completely filled and waiting lists started several months prior to the start of the course cycle. For this reason prospective students are urged to apply early to be considered for admission to a particular cycle of the program. Applications will be accepted for the current fall class until September when enrollment is finalized.

The application form, a photo, letters of recommendation and the not refundable application/registration fee should be mailed or faxed to:

Registrar, The New Seminary,
PMB #344, 2576 Broadway
New York, NY 10025-5657

Fax: 212-864-8355

If materials are faxed, you must follow up by mailing the original to the above address.

Upon receipt of the completed application form, questionnaire and application/registration fee, a member of our Admissions Committee will contact the candidate to schedule an interview.
