Two Year Ministerial Program Abstract - First Year Focus: Comparative Religion Approaches to Psychology, Counseling, & Healing Applying Spiritual Principles to Daily Life Inner Personal Development Topics Covered: Concepts of Interfaith Dimensions of Spiritual Practice   and Inner Development Basics of Ritual Native American Spirituality Goddess/Earth-based Religions African Religions Hinduism & Yoga Philosophy Buddhism Taoism Judaism Catholicism & Protestantism Islam & Sufism New Thought Modern Spirituality Freud & the Psychoanalytic Perspective Jung & Depth Psychology Transpersonal Perspectives in Psychology    and Psychosynthesis Basic Counseling Skills Alcoholism, Addiction, & 12-Step Spirituality Death & Dying Hospital Chaplaincy Approaches to Energy Healing Requirements: Classwork (Class attendance or via audio tapes/CDs) Monthly reading assignments and written work Participation in ongoing study groups Participation in email group sharing Field visits to services or ceremonies of various faiths Participation in Buddy and Mentor programs Volunteer service in the community Participation in Interfaith Temple gatherings (attending students only) Final Year End Paper Intensive Residential Retreat Final oral examination/dialogue Upon successful completion of the first year, students are recognized in a ceremony of Spiritual Initiation into the Interfaith ministry. Full ordination is not granted until completion of the second year training.
